My Newest Creation

So my niece's 4th birthday was coming up and everyone knows that aunties LOVE to spoil their nieces. In the last year I have started to make hair accessories and my niece {who has the most adorable curly hair} is kind of my muse when making them, so she get's a lot of my accessories...... I made her a couple of cute ones for her birthday and hair accessories are not the easiest to wrap as a gift. It just so happens that I love to make cards as well so I was trying to think of a way to incorporate the two together. So I came up with the idea of making birthday cards with hair accessories attached. The hard part is coming up with a way to make the card look great when the hair accessory is being used. The 2 pictures posted are my first effort. I think they are adorable. The pink one in the one I made for my niece with the large pink pinwheel bow and the organza rosette. The blue one which is now listed on my Etsy site, is the extra one I made when I got so excited about how cute they are. Tell me what you think...... ps... I apologize for the picture quality. I am not photographer "yet".... :)

A little about me.......

I am going to be honest, I am totally new to blogging....... like so new I have no idea how to make my blog look pretty like all the other ones I enjoy reading so much. I will get there eventually.... but it will take a little time......
I also {more than likely} will not post regularly, I either will get too busy or I will forget.
I thought I would tell every one a little bit about myself......
I have always been a crafty person. I work full time shift work as a Paediatric RN. I have not always been a nurse. I have done pretty much everything under the sun, been a waitress, bookkeeper, worked in fashion, was a hair dresser {a lot of these at the same time} but then I decided to go back to school at the age of 30 and got my degree in Nursing. I LOVE my job... I work with the greatest people and the greatest "little" people. Of course with my job comes a lot of stress...... which brings me to......
I have always been a creative person...... and I found that my craftiness or creativity has always been a good outlet to relieve the stresses of work.
I do pretty much everything....... knit, crochet, make cards, scrapbook, make hair accessories and tutu's. A year ago, my mom {who also makes beautiful cards} and I decided to open an Etsy store. It has been challenging to say the least. We have not gotten very far with it but one of these days it will take off. We decided on the name CreativeJunkeez because well....we are junkeez literally...... you can also visit CreativeJunkeez on Facebook to see everything we do......
Well that is enough yammering from me..... please be patient with this whole blogging thing. I promise I will do my best posting all the lovely things we make.....
